Mr. Jason Coffman

Floyd County Schools (FCS) is proud to announce the appointment of Jason Coffman as the new Assistant Principal of Armuchee Primary School (APS). 

A veteran educator with over 22 years of experience within the district, Mr. Coffman brings leadership and a passion for the Armuchee community to his new administrative role.

Mr. Coffman is a familiar face in the Armuchee area, having served most recently as a Lead Kindergarten Teacher at APS. His extensive background includes serving as a Teacher on Special Assignment at Armuchee Elementary, where he managed assistant principal duties, including student discipline, faculty coordination, and overseeing testing for over 200 students. 

Additionally, he has held roles as a music teacher, chorus director, and lead teacher for 4th and 5th grades.

"We are excited to have Mr. Coffman step into this leadership position at Armuchee Primary," said Dr. Glenn White, FCS Superintendent. "His decades of classroom experience, combined with his proven ability to lead faculty and support student growth, make him an invaluable asset to the Primary school’s administration team."

Mr. Coffman holds a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Berry College and a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from the State University of West Georgia. He also holds a Tier 1 Leadership Certification and a Gifted Endorsement.

Deeply involved in the community, Mr. Coffman has served on the Armuchee Primary Leadership Team, the Teacher Advisory Board, and as the Director of the Armuchee/Glenwood Education Foundation Follies. Outside of the school system, he serves as the Minister of Music at Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church.

Mr. Coffman’s transition to Assistant Principal is effective for the 2026-2027 school year, where he looks forward to continuing his service to the students and families of the Armuchee Tribe alongside the new principal, Sarah Holsomback.
